What are Calibration Services?
When it comes to calibrating the instruments you need in the day-to-day operations of your business, working with a trusted calibration lab is the key to ensuring reliable results. At Trident Calibration, we are proud to be an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab with over 100 years of combined experience on staff. Many of our technicians have been trained in the U.S. Armed Forces and are PMEL qualified, enabling us to offer in-depth knowledge and top-quality service.
What is Calibration and Why is it Important?
You rely on your instruments to provide accurate readings—but several different factors, ranging from normal wear and tear to temperature changes to mechanical shocks, can cause instruments to deviate. That’s why regular calibration is crucial.
Calibration refers to the process of obtaining a reading from an instrument and comparing it to a reading from a standard instrument with an accuracy of at least four times the accuracy of the instrument under test. If there is variation between the two, the instrument in question will be adjusted until its readings align with the established standard.
By routinely having your instruments calibrated, you can reduce the risk of having to discard, repair, or recall products—all of which translate to avoidable costs and delays. In addition, some businesses are subject to regulatory requirements prescribing a specific calibration schedule, with steep fines and penalties for lack of compliance.
